A team with limited experience after being hampered by the graduate, Sparta fought through some early losses to turn in the regular season. In the North Coast section Division I Championship game, they are directed by a star-studded team of Castro Valley.
It was done a slight weight loss two weeks later, when De La Salle beat the Trojans in California when the Federation of Northern regional Division I Championship to reach State title game.
Sparta coach Frank Allocco “We were lucky to beat them because they are quite talented,” said Castro Valley.
De La Salle was not banking on luck when that laces up this season. A list of experienced last year has developed into this season’s squad debut that veteran as top-ranked teams in the poll of Bay Area News Group East Bay.
“We feel good about this team,” said Allocco. “We had some back is really solid players.”
